Route 2: Amman (AMM) – Doha (DOH) – Jakarta (CGK)
(*) DOH here was the old Doha International Airport, not the new Hamad International Airport.
Jakarta to Doha, first meal. Dinner, Jakarta time: “asinan jakarta”, braised beef with horseradish gravy, coconut-and-lime cheese cake, tomato juice. Super like!
Jakarta to Doha, second meal. Dinner, Doha time: glass noodles salad with tofu, braised ginger beef, cut fresh fruit, apple juice. So-so, but noodles salad was good.
Doha to Cairo. Fish menu for…uh, breakfast?? Super-late supper?? A very hearty meal. And it included Godiva chocolates!!
Amman to Doha. Option 1: lamb with long grain rice. Nice!
Amman to Doha. Option 2: chicken with potatoes. Taste? Dunno lah, it was my father’s!
Doha to Jakarta, first meal. Cucumber-bell pepper-corn-black olive salad, braised chicken in mustard cream sauce, fresh fruits, and Chardonnay in a plastic glass. 😀
Doha to Jakarta, second meal. Green beans-artichoke-sundried tomato salad, breaded pangasius with basil thyme sauce, chocolate chip cake, apple juice.
Overall, I really enjoyed the meals served by Qatar Airways. Even that on short-haul flight between Doha and Cairo was very tasty. I’ve never been on any Etihad or Emirates flights so far. Are theirs better?
